Tanzania Hub

Tanzania Hub

MOE is proud to announce the launch of its first international hub and at the same time its unique micro gifting model that empowers community leadership and entrepreneurs in developing countries to take personal responsibility to raise their entrepreneurial game.

In November 2012 we gifted £3,000 (7.5 Million Tanzania shillings) to a group of 5 female entrepreneurs. They have signed the pledge in Swahili. They own the business jointly and have committed to manage the investment and pay back the initial loan over an 18 month period. As the investment money flows back into the community fund, this will then be re-distributed to members of the community for their entrepreneurial initiatives. Again, these individuals will be expected to payback the gift to the community fund.

In addition to the 5 female entrepreneurs, we have 2 local trusted MOE friends who will oversea the community, they will work in partnership with the local government/community leaders but this fund is independent of this team of people to ensure the integrity of this social venture. We hope as the years unfold, this model proves to be a viable, sustainable and ethical way in which to aid people in poor rural communities to teach themselves skills that have a positive and lasting impact on their families and the local community.

MOE Pioneers Programme 2012

MOE Pioneers Programme 2012

In association with Kids Company, Embercombe, the Association for Coaching and the International Coach Federation, we will be funding special young people from Kids Company on a purpose built leadership programme.

From the 11th to the 16th of November 10 young people from Kids Company visited the beautiful countryside of Devon attending a week long course at Embercombe. We ran the first pioneers programme in May 2011 and this year’s has been even bigger, better and more impactful.

As well as the week long programme in Embercombe each of the young people gain access to an Association for Coaching or International Coach Federation professional coach. The coach works with the young person to understand their dream and ambition and then supports them in making that dream a reality.

In addition to this support the young people gain access to the MOE Network which supports them through connections on a personal, professional and organisational level.

The ICF UK have created a page to showcase community coaching initiatives carried out by UK ICF coaches in the UK and beyond. It is an opportunity to raise awareness, to celebrate their success, to inspire other coaches to get involved and to share the work that they are doing to benefit their local communities and beyond and, in so doing, realising our BHAG, that coaching is an integral part of our society. MOE Coach Training Programme

MOE Coach Training Programme

We are really proud to announce that 40 young people are now qualified coaches thanks to our Coach Training Programme run in partnership with Carol Wilson’s Performance Coach Training organisation.

You can read about the course and watch a short film made by some of the participants on our blog page.

This programme was brought together by MOE and PCT to aid young people in getting core coaching skills that will enable them to act as role models and leaders within their local communities.

The young people gain exposure to 5 days of leading edge coach training through PCT and upon successfully completing the programme they are then able join the Association for Coaching as a member. It aims to give them rich life skills that they can share in their local community, access to a global network of executive coaches and provides them with a way to build a professional career in one of the fastest growing and impactful sectors of business.

Following the success and demand for this course, we are holding our third MOE Coach Training Programme in April and further courses throughout the year. For more information check out our events page.

MOE GOMAD Programme 2012

MOE GOMAD Programme 2012

In November 2012 members of the MOE Community went on an adventure philanthropy tour to Tanzania Africa.

They looked at how we could make a conscious difference to a small community that has 90 young people living in abject poverty, 25 of whom do not have homes and 15 who have HIV.

From the 19th to the 26th of November Darren Robson and Hugh Garry visited Tanzania to scope out a social venture in a local community. They assessed the viability of setting up a business with all funds from this venture being returned to the community so that they can house, educate and support 90 young people who do not have homes or educational support.
